Taxonomy

Ficheiro

There are challenges, specific requirements, and all of this is important in taxonomy.  Why? Because it helps biologists and scientists sort our animals into specific groups.  I will tell why taxonomy is a challenge for biologists and what specific requirements taxonomy must achieve.

Taxonomy is a challenge for biologists and scientists alike.  It is hard to sort each kind of animal into their own specific group, because a lot of the animals may have one characteristic as another group but not have any of the other characteristics as that the group does.  So what do the scientists/biologists do?  They have think and find other ways of sorting that group of animals and perhaps find other animals with that same characteristic(s).  See why it can be a challenge to sort billions of animals in to like four different groups?

To add more to the challenge, what about the specific requirements that each group should have?  A biologist/scientist has to make sure that each group, has ALL the same characteristics in general and that there is no animal that does not have any of those characteristics or has an extra one.  For example, one group of animals, let’s say the lion, is similar to the tigers, right?  Well, they are both cats, hunters, carnivores, predators, etc., but they live in different parts of the world.  Well, why don’t the scientists/biologist just categorize the animals into specific regions that they live in?  They probably have, but I think it would be easy for them to study the animals if they categorized the animals into specific groups with most of the similar characteristics.
