Chordates and Vertebrates

Chordates are animals that have the characteristics in the picture above.  However, only four are the most important characteristics in describing a chordate.  They are the following: a notochord, a dorsal nerve cord, pharyngeal clefts, and a muscular tail.  All of the characteristics come at different times in the animals’ lives.   Continue reading
